FITTING INSTRUCTIONS

The composition and structure of our mouldings make them very easy to cut precisely and effortlessly.

The mouldings can be cut using the most commonly used tools, such as a metal hand saw. However, to achieve the cleanest edges and angles, we advise using a circular saw.

Our mouldings come in a standard grey concrete finish, which is ready for painting with exterior emulsion paint if so required.

Alternatively, we can supply a range of stone effect and colour options upon request.

To discuss your specific requirements and place on order,

please send us an e-mail to info@polyconcrete.co.uk

1. Measure and mark desired cutting angle/length using a pencil.

2. Cut the moulding in the desired location using a metal hand saw however, we advise using a circular saw for cutting precise and clean angles.

3. When cutting for corner finishes or for a window surrounds, cutting should be done at a 45-degree angle.

5. Once the glue mixture has been applied to both ends, they should be pressed tightly together and held in position for a moment to allow them to form a fixed bond.

7. To achieve the most successful adhesion possible, the glue mixture should be applied to the entire length of the moulding and the desired application surface using a notched trowel.

4. The two cut surfaces should be subsequently coated with the glue mixture using a notched trowel to spread the glue evenly over the entire cut surface.

6. After the glue has dried the join should be filled out with extra glue and the surface smoothed to achieve a seamless finish.

IMPORTANT INFO

When fitting mouldings, the air temperature should be within the region of 5°C and 30°C.

The desired application surface for the moulding should be dry and free of any loose fragments, dust or grease.

To achieve the most secure fitting, we highly recommend using our special adhesive (Customers using alternative adhesives do so at their own risk).

If larger sections of mouldings are being applied to a given area, we recommend using support pegs or brackets for additional reinforcement.
